Faustino
Bodegas Faustino is one of Spain’s most renowned winemaking companies. Its main winery is located in La Rioja and is part of the Familia Martínez Zabala group. The estate was founded in 1861, and the Martínez Zabala family is now in its fourth generation of winemaking. The family owns 700 hectares of vineyards in Rioja Alavesa, as well as approximately 1,500 hectares in other regions of Spain.
To create wines of the highest quality, Faustino harmoniously blends time-honored traditions with innovative technology. Wines from Bodegas Faustino enjoy a stellar reputation not only in Spain but are also exported to many countries worldwide. Each year, the company vinifies 19 million kilograms of grapes, using over 100,000 oak barrels across its seven wineries.
Faustino is a recognized expert in aging. The estate’s cellars hold more than 75,000 barrels, and its flagship wine, Faustino Gran Reserva, consistently receives top scores in numerous key wine competitions and ratings.
For the Martínez family, the priorities have always been the exceptional quality of their wines and control over every stage of production — from the grape harvest to the moment the wine is in the glass.
Faustino is a great patron of the arts. For over 60 years, every bottle has been adorned with a reproduction of Rembrandt’s painting Portrait of Nicolaes van Bambeeck. The brand actively collaborates with museums, art galleries, theaters, and contemporary artists.
Faustino is consistently featured on the shortlist of the world’s most esteemed wine brands by Drinks International (15th place in 2025), and the wine publication Wine Enthusiast named Faustino the best winery of 2025.
