Familia Torres appoints distributor BELUGA GROUP
for Torres wine distribution for all of Russia

December 1st, 2018 – Moscow, Russia – Familia Torres (Miguel Torres S.A.) announced today that effective January 1st 2019, BELUGA GROUP (former JSC Synergy) has been appointed exclusive Torres’ wine distributor for Russia. The BELUGA GROUP who had already been Torres’ distributor for all Torres spirits in Russia since July 2015, will now also take over the distribution of the Torres wine portfolio. The decision was taken by Torres due to a change in the distribution strategy for the Russian market.

Alexander Mechetin, CEO of BELUGA GROUP, states: “We are very proud to expand our partnership now also with the wine portfolio of such a great company and are determined to unite our efforts to accelerate the growth and brand-building of both Torres spirits and  wines.”

About Familia Torres: The origins of the Torres family in the Catalan Penedès region – near Barcelona – date back to the 17th century. Historically the family has vineyards in the Catalan appellations of origin Penedès, Conca de Barberà, Priorat and Costers del Segre. Miguel Torres fourth generation pioneered in planting Cabernet Sauvignon in Spain creating 'Mas la Plana' in 1970. Today the fifth generation is focusing on recovering ancestral Catalan varieties. The Torres family is present in other Spanish iconic regions with singular wines and vineyards. Internationally Torres was the first foreign family to invest in Chile back in 1979 and today Torres lead the recovery of ancient varieties like País and Carignan.  Familia Torres is a member of PFV, an association of 11 wine families who are among the most prestigious wine producers of their regions.
