Key figures for the period

  • The result for the period is in line with the previous year: the company’s overall sales changed slightly to over 7.67 million 9L cases (-1,5%).
  • The sales of the company’s in-house brands in Russia are 5.9 million 9L cases against 6 million 9L cases a year earlier.
  • The sales of imported brands as in 2023, approached 1.8 million 9L cases (-0.8%).
  • The number of WineLab outlets reached 1,810 in June, while the company’s in-house retail sales grew by 32.5% vs. 2023.

1H results

  • Brands in the premium and super-premium segments continue to grow at double-digit rates, with a positive impact on margins.
  • The fastest growing vodka brands over the period were Beluga (+28%), Orthodox (+28%) and Belaya Sova (+49.6%).
  • The absolute leader in the low premium segment, Arkhangelskaya vodka (+8.4%), continues to gain market share.
  • Among non-vodka brands, Tiflis Treasure brandy (+11.9%) and Devil’s Island rum (+27.8%) showed the most positive dynamics.
  • Golubitskoe Estate’s own premium wines, Golubitskoe Estate and Tête de Cheval, doubled in volume.
  • Lalique’s Beluga Epicure Noir decanter became the most expensive lot at the Cosmoscow Foundation auction, selling for 3 million roubles.
  • As part of the annual World Gin Day 2024 festival, attended by Russia’s leading gin producers, Green Baboon Pink Gin won the 2024 World Gin Day Award in the Best Flavoured Gin category.
  • In June, world-renowned magazine, Drinks International, has released The Millionaires’ Club 2023 — the annual ranking of the world’s million-cases spirits brands. Among the Russian brands, Arkhangelskaya became the No. 1 brand, Belenkaya was No. 4 and Tsar entered the top 15.
  • The agreement for the exclusive distribution of Noy cognacs was renewed for a period of five years.

WineLab results

  • The sales of the chain increased by 32.5% compared to 1H 2023.
  • This strong performance is due to the double-digit growth of both customer traffic +10.7% and the average ticket +19.6%.
  • The number of outlets for the 1H increased by 153, and exceeded 1,800 stores.
  • Click & collect sales rose by 116% YoY, and the share of e-commerce in the aggregated sales of the chain is now 11.9% versus 7.3% last year. More than 335,000 e-orders are picked up in WineLab stores every month.
  • WineLab took part in the Runet Rating — one of the most authoritative ratings in the field of advertising, development and e-commerce. The competition attracted almost 1,000 entries. WineLab participated in the rating for the first time and immediately took ninth place in the Food category and became the only representative of the Alcohol subcategory.
  • The WINCLUB points-based loyalty program is growing, with more than 7.5 million members.
  • WineLab continues to develop: sales and the number of outlets are increasing, making it one of the key elements in the Novabev Group structure.

The operating results for the period therefore demonstrate the sustainable development of the company. The sales momentum for the half year has improved compared to the first quarter, demonstrating the refine in business processes and the team’s ability to adapt to changes in the market. The company is committed to a high level of product quality and focuses on customer tastes, convenience and demands. As a result, Novabev Group confidently holds its position in the Russian alcohol market and continues to strengthen its reputation as a reliable supplier for both business partners and consumers.
