BELUGA GROUP wines are in the first Forbes ranking of the best Russian wines
On 13 December, Forbes magazine unveiled its first independent ranking of Russia's best wines, featuring five wines from the Golubitskoe Estate winery: Golubitskoe Estate Chardonnay Reserve 2019, Red Blend Noble Selection 2018, Pinot Noir Reserve 2019, Chardonnay Noble Selection Barrel Touch 2016 and Tête de Cheval Brut 2018.
Moreover, Chardonnay Reserve 2019 ranked highest of all the white wines included in the ranking. It was noted by the experts as the sample "having the best value for money, quality and production volume".
The Top includes 100 Russian wines, no more than five samples from one producer. Only wines from the most recent vintage year with a production volume of at least 900 bottles were allowed to participate. The drinks were judged by an expert panel of recognized industry professionals, renowned sommeliers, wine journalists and bloggers, as well as wine schools professors.
All tastings were carried out "blindly": the samples were pre-coded, then placed in opaque packaging and presented to the experts without any identifying marks. "Opening" the samples was only allowed after the tasting had been completed when all the score sheets signed by the committee members had been collected and the tasting scores could not be corrected.
The organoleptic score obtained at the tasting was fundamental but not the only factor determining the place in the Top. The experts also took into account other factors: consumer accessibility – retail price and production volume, brand awareness and marketing activity of the winery, quality of distribution, producer's reputation, its contribution to promoting wine culture, awards at international competitions, as well as communication with the professional community.
Getting into the ranking with the maximum possible number of samples confirms the high quality of the Golubitskoe Estate and Tête de Cheval wines, the professionalism of the Golubitskoe Estate team and the accuracy of the BELUGA GROUP strategy in the direction of the wine business’ development.
