Duca di Salaparuta
An outstanding winery with 200 years of experience, founded in 1824. The estate’s history began when Giuseppe Alliata, Prince of Villafranca and Duke of Salaparuta, a passionate connoisseur of fine wine, decided to produce exquisite wine “in the French style” from grapes grown on his own lands.
After extensive research into the soils and climate of beautiful, native Sicily, the winery’s specialists found ideal conditions for cultivating vines. Today, Duca di Salaparuta owns three estates in different parts of the island, allowing it to cultivate various grape varieties and create wines in completely different styles. The assortment includes both elegant and aristocratic wines from vineyards on the slopes of Mount Etna, as well as muscular reds from Nero d’Avola and juicy whites.
