BELUGA GROUP becomes the exclusive distributor of Barton & Guestier in Russia

october 25 /2021

BELUGA GROUP continues to develop its portfolio of imported wines: in the fall of 2021 an agreement with Barton & Guestier, a major wine trading company with nearly 300 years of history, came into force.

Barton & Guestier cooperates with over 200 French wineries located in 23 appellations of origin and working with a total of 20 grape varieties. The brand presents high-quality AOC French wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Provence, the Rhone, and Loire Valleys, as well as local wines from the southern regions of Languedoc, Gascony, and Corsica. The heart of Barton & Guestier is Château Magnol, the early 17th-century castle and the adjoining winery with its own vineyards, owned by the company since 1969.

The selection of products to be presented under the Barton & Guestier name is handled by the company's head winemaker Laurent Prada. One-third of the company's business is linked to Bordeaux, which is a key region for B&G.

BELUGA GROUP on an exclusive basis will present in Russia 12 B&G wines from the main wine-producing regions of France, such as Bordeaux, Gascony, Pays d'Oc, Saint-Emilion, and others – including premium wines of Château de Magnol.

Barton & Guestier Deputy General Manager Philippe Marion said, "We started supplying Barton & Guestier products to Russia in 1995 and to this day this market remains very important to us. The BELUGA GROUP is one of the main wine importers in the country with a strong consumer focus, and this vision unites us. We have full confidence in the partner and are convinced that BELUGA GROUP’s distribution and commercial capabilities will make our fine varietal wines available to customers throughout Russia".
