BELUGA GROUP announces operational results for the 4Q 2017 and full Y2017
BELUGA GROUP - the largest spirits company in Russia (MOEX: BELU) reports that overall sales for the 4Q 2017 increased by 1.5% and amounted to 4,623 thousand 9L cases comparing to 4,556 thousand 9L cases reported in 4Q 2016. Overall sales for the full Y2017 increased by 4% and amounted to 14,160 thousand 9L cases comparing to 13,652 thousand 9L cases declared in 2016.
The sales of its own Group’s products in the 4Q 2017 remained at the same level and amounted to 4,263 thousand 9L cases comparing to 4,274 thousand 9L cases reported in the 4Q 2016. At the same time for the full Y2017, this indicator increased by 2% up to 13,132 thousand 9L cases comparing to the same period of 2016 (12,913 thousand 9L cases).
Commenting on the operational results, CEO of BELUGA GROUP Alexander Mechetin said: “Following the results of the year the Group has shown considerable positive dynamics of operational indicators. In 2016, the Company continued to develop its own brand portfolio effectively: successfully started Arkhangelskaya vodka; restyling of Belenkaya vodka and Russian premium champagne VOGUE was done; Arbatskoe wine launched. Among other successes, the achievements of Belenkaya brand which had become the absolute leader in Russia in volume and value should be noted.
Another significant event of the last year was the start of William Lawson’s Super Spiced production at the Group’s plant Georgievsky in the framework of Bacardi & BELUGA GROUP mutual project.
Our exclusive distribution of the partners’ brands had also dynamically raised by 39%. Particularly sales of popular Ron Barcelo premium rum had grown by two times – the brand is now number 3 in the category in the Russian market, Spanish Torres brandy had raised by 60%. The Company also had shown a considerable surplus of wine sales.
At the same time export business of BELUGA GROUP also successfully developed. Thus, good results were shown by the European market, in particular, the sales had grown in Germany, Switzerland, and Italy. Overall export sales grew by 25%.
In summary, I’d like to note that BELUGA GROUP looks forward with optimism and will continue to react flexibly and timely to market changes using the weighed approach to production and sales operations and offering its consumers high-quality products at an optimal price.
