Masi Tupungato

Masi Tupungato is a wine-producing project launched by the famous Italian company Masi in Mendoza Province, Argentina.

Masi Tupungato produces wines that are similar to the Italian ones from the Veneto region. Similarities include the winemaking culture, production technology, and the character of the drinks. "Argentinian land, Veneto style," is the concept of Masi Tupungato.

Masi brought its philosophy of caring and respecting the environment into the region to create the fully eco-sustainable company. For instance, Masi Tupungato uses rainwater for irrigation and various chemical-free solutions to encourage soil health and combat pests.

The company's vineyards are located in the Tupungato River region. They stretch for about 10 hectares and include the Italian Corvinone and Corvina grape varieties, Argentinian Malbec, and Merlot. The climate in the Veneto and Tupungato regions is alike: the low rainfall is compensated by lots of groundwater, a small lake nearby creates a specific local microclimate hospitable to growing Veneto grape varieties. The soil predominantly consisting of sandstone and rocks is rich in organic compounds.
Growing grapes and producing wine involve organic techniques and agricultural principles: development and implementation of preventative activities to reduce the vulnerability of plants towards pests and diseases, the use of organic solutions for vineyard spraying, the total ban of genetically modified organisms, only mechanical weeding.

Masi Tupungato combines the richness and fertility of Argentinian nature with the elegancy and style of Veneto wines.
